Description

Almond-Crusted Brie with Sugar-Free Berry Sauce is a delightful appetizer that combines creamy Brie cheese with a crunchy almond crust and a sweet berry glaze, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces of Brie cheese
  • 1 cup of chopped almonds
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of assorted berries (blackberries, cranberries, cherries)
  • 2 tablespoons of stevia or your choice of sugar alternative
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg and milk together until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the chopped almonds with onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Immerse the Brie cheese in the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  5. Roll the Brie in the almond mixture, pressing down lightly to ensure an even coating.
  6. Place the Brie on the lined baking tray.
  7. Bake the Brie for 15-20 minutes, or until it becomes soft and the almond crust turns a lovely golden hue.
  8. While the cheese is baking, create the berry glaze by combining the assorted berries, stevia, and lime juice in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  9. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries soften and the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  10. After the Brie has finished baking, allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving. Pour the no-sugar berry glaze over the warm Brie and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a sweeter glaze, adjust the stevia to your liking.
  • You can swap the assorted berries for your personal favorites or use a no-sugar fruit spread for a quick alternative.
  • Incorporate fresh herbs like thyme or dill into the almond coating for added flavor.
