Description
Bacon Meatballs are a delicious combination of ground beef and bacon, seasoned to perfection and baked for a flavorful dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 ounces bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped bacon, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, oregano, and thyme. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside, reaching an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Let the meatballs cool for a few minutes before serving. They can be enjoyed on their own, with marinara sauce, or in a sub sandwich.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- For added flavor, try mixing in some shredded mozzarella cheese before forming the meatballs.
