Description

Baked Crack Chicken is a delicious and creamy chicken dish topped with crispy bacon and melted cheese, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp dried dill
  • ½ tsp dried chives
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh dill, chopped (for garnish)
  • Green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Pound the chicken breasts to about ¼-½ inch thickness, wrapping them in cling film to avoid splatter.
  3. Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, rubbing the spices into the meat.
  4. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan, leaving the fat behind, and set it aside.
  5. Add 1 tbsp of butter to the frying pan with the bacon fat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until browned.
  6. Flip the chicken breasts, add the remaining 1 tbsp of butter, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned.
  7. Remove the chicken from the frying pan and place it in the prepared baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, and dried chives.
  9. Spread about 2 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each chicken breast.
  10. Top each chicken breast with half of the cooked bacon, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is slightly browned.
  12. Garnish with the remaining bacon, fresh dill, and chopped green onion. Optionally, add more black pepper and salt to taste.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the spices for a few hours before cooking.
  • Substitute the cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese, such as mozzarella or pepper jack, for a different taste.
