Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken (about 1.5 to 2 pounds of chicken breasts or thighs) in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  7. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or bake in the oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
