Description

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef cheeks
  • 1 cup tallow
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe pot, combine the tallow, garlic, thyme, black peppercorns, smoked paprika, bay leaf, and salt.
  3. Add the beef cheeks to the pot, ensuring they’re covered by the tallow.
  4. Cover the pot and place it in the oven for about 8 hours, until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

  • This dish can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.
