Description

A unique twist on a classic dish, these Black Garlic Deviled Eggs are creamy, flavorful, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon black garlic paste (or 23 cloves of black garlic, mashed)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pan, remove it from heat, and let it sit for 12 minutes.
  2. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Once cooled, gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel them under running water for easier removal.
  4. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks, placing them in a mixing bowl.
  5. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, black garlic paste, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mash everything together until smooth and creamy.
  6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
  7. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with chopped chives before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the yolk mixture.
  • Substitute the black garlic with regular garlic for a different flavor profile, or try adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika for a smoky twist.
