Description

A refreshing and unique drink that combines the zesty flavor of lemon with the intriguing addition of activated charcoal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup agave syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and agave syrup (or honey). Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  3. Add the cooled water to the pitcher and mix thoroughly.
  4. Stir in the activated charcoal powder and sea salt until well combined. The mixture will turn a deep black color.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  6. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace half of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
