Description

A traditional Brazilian dish featuring juicy picanha beef served with farofa, a toasted cassava flour mixture.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds picanha cut of beef
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 cup farofa (toasted cassava flour)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 banana, sliced (for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  2. Season the picanha generously with sea salt and black pepper.
  3. Place the picanha on the grill, fat side down, and cook for approximately 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. While the meat is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add garlic, onion, and bell pepper, sautéing until softened.
  6. Add farofa to the skillet and stir until well combined and toasted.
  7. Remove the picanha from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve picanha slices with farofa, garnished with sliced banana and fresh parsley.
