Description
A delicious and spicy Cheese Jalapeño Bread recipe that combines the flavors of sharp cheddar cheese and jalapeños for a perfect savory treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños to the dry ingredients, and toss to coat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more jalapeños or use pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar.
- To make this bread extra cheesy, sprinkle additional cheese on top before baking.
