Description
A delightful comfort dish featuring ground beef and caramelized onions topped with melted cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
