Description

A delicious and fruity dessert made with fresh cherries and topped with a buttery almond crisp.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix cherries, lemon juice, and ¾ cup sugar until well combined.
  3. Transfer the cherry mixture to a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, sliced almonds, and cinnamon.
  5. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the cherries.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
  • Use frozen cherries if fresh are not available.
