Description

A delicious and uniquely flavored mackerel dish inspired by cherry blossoms.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 mackerel fillets
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 teaspoon mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cherry blossoms (edible, salted)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil


Instructions

  1. Rinse the mackerel fillets under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the mackerel to the marinade and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Place the marinated mackerel in the pan, cooking for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, add the cherry blossoms to the pan to infuse the flavor.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh mackerel.
  • Make sure the cherry blossoms are edible and properly prepared.
