Description
A delicious and uniquely flavored mackerel dish inspired by cherry blossoms.
Ingredients

- 2 mackerel fillets
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 teaspoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 cherry blossoms (edible, salted)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Rinse the mackerel fillets under cold water and pat dry.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the mackerel to the marinade and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Place the marinated mackerel in the pan, cooking for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- In the last minute of cooking, add the cherry blossoms to the pan to infuse the flavor.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For best results, use fresh mackerel.
- Make sure the cherry blossoms are edible and properly prepared.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice.
