Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Grease four ramekins and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a bowl over simmering water.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until thick and pale.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
  6. Gently stir in the flour, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and salt until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
  9. Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates.
