Description
A hearty, creamy casserole combining ground beef, cabbage, and cheese for a comforting low-carb meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, cooking until it begins to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream, adding paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some cooked bacon or adding a dash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
