Description
Crispy Keto Avocado Fries: A Delicious Guilt-Free Treat
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Oil for frying (such as avocado oil or coconut oil)
Instructions
- Cut each avocado half into wedges, about 4-6 wedges per half.
- In a shallow bowl, combine almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until well combined.
- Place the grated Parmesan cheese in a third shallow bowl.
- Dip each avocado wedge first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
- Next, coat the avocado in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Finally, dip the coated avocado into the Parmesan cheese, ensuring it is fully covered.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Carefully add the avocado wedges in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or a spicy mayo.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper to the almond flour mixture.
- For a baked option, preheat the oven to 400°F, place the coated avocado fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
