Description

Create spooky and delicious Dark Chocolate Almond Skulls that are perfect for Halloween or any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped
  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds (for decoration)
  • Silicone skull mold

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Be careful not to overheat.
  2. Once melted, use a spoon to coat the inside of each cavity of the silicone skull mold with a layer of chocolate. Make sure to cover the sides and bottom evenly.
  3. Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set the chocolate.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the almond butter, powdered sugar, sea salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Remove the mold from the refrigerator and spoon a small amount of the almond butter mixture into each chocolate-coated skull cavity, leaving a little space at the top.
  6. Cover the almond butter with another layer of melted dark chocolate, ensuring that the filling is completely sealed.
  7. Return the mold to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.
  8. Once set, gently pop the chocolate skulls out of the mold and place them on a serving platter.
  9. Decorate the tops of the skulls with sliced almonds for added texture and visual appeal.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or cayenne pepper to the almond butter mixture for a spicy kick.
  • You can also substitute peanut butter for almond butter if you prefer a different flavor.
