Description

Delicious and chewy chocolate chip cookie bars that are simple to make and perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
