Description

Delicious and nutritious falafel served with creamy yogurt, perfect for a healthy meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dried chickpeas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup olives


Instructions

  1. Soak chickpeas in water overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then blend them with onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cayenne, baking powder, flour, and salt until smooth.
  3. Form the mixture into balls and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the falafel until golden brown.
  5. In a bowl, mix yogurt, salt, lemon juice, cucumber, tomato, and olives.
  6. Serve the falafel with the yogurt mixture in bowls.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add tahini to the yogurt mix.
  • Falafel can be baked for a healthier option.
