Description
A traditional savory pastry filled with a delicious mixture of meats, potatoes, and spices, popular in Bolivia.
Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1 hard-boiled egg, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1 recipe for dough
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add the onions and garlic, sautƩ until translucent.
- Stir in the cumin, paprika, and diced potatoes. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
- Mix in green peas and chopped hard-boiled egg. Season with salt, then remove from heat.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Place filling in the center, fold and crimp edges to seal.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add jalapeƱos to the filling.
- These pastries can be frozen before baking.
- Serve with a side of spicy salsa for dipping.
