- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans of crab meat, strained
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 finely chopped green onions
- 1/2 tsp finely minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Dash of salt and pepper
- 18 mozzarella cheese slices
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the strained crab, green onions, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until well combined.
- Arrange the mozzarella slices on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 4-5 minutes until fully melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Add about 2 tablespoons of the crab mixture to one half of each melted cheese slice. Fold the slices in half to form rectangles, pressing the edges to seal.
- Return the folded rangoons to the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts but remains soft.
- Using a spoon, press the edges into smaller, circular shapes. Switch the oven to broil, then return the rangoons to the oven for 2-4 minutes until golden brown on top and around the edges.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
