  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • For the Citrus Herb Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat your grill or grill pan to a high temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, sea salt, and black pepper.
  3. Generously coat the flank steak with the spice blend and drizzle with avocado oil.
  4. Allow the steak to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Prepare the citrus herb sauce by whisking together avocado oil, lime juice, orange juice, chopped garlic, oregano, sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper in a separate bowl.
  6. Fold in the chopped parsley and set the sauce aside.
  7. Grill the flank steak for approximately 5-7 minutes on each side, adjusting for your preferred doneness.
  8. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  9. Serve the sliced steak drizzled with the citrus herb sauce or alongside it for dipping.
