- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (sugar-free)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat mixture with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and pizza sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or olive oil. Spoon the meat mixture into each muffin cup, filling them about 3/4 full.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of each cup.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before carefully removing the pizza cups from the muffin tin.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture for a spicy kick.
- You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
