Description

Keto M’hadjeb Wraps are a delicious and guilt-free flatbread made with almond flour, perfect for a low-carb diet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup water (adjust as necessary)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, coconut flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in the water and olive oil. Gradually pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms. If the dough feels too crumbly, add more water, a tablespoon at a time, until it holds together.
  3. Knead the dough gently on a clean surface for about a minute until it becomes smooth. Divide the dough into four equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  4. Cover the balls with a damp cloth and let them rest for 15 minutes to relax the gluten.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the filling by heating a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook until browned. Stir in the chopped bell peppers, onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, cooking until the vegetables soften. If desired, mix in the cheese until melted and combined.
  6. On a floured surface, roll each dough ball into a thin circle, roughly 8 inches in diameter.
  7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden and fully cooked.
  8. Once cooked, take a flatbread and place a generous scoop of the filling in the center. Fold it over to create a wrap, and enjoy while warm.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian twist, replace the meat with sautéed mushrooms and spinach.
  • Spice things up by adding cumin or chili powder to the filling for an extra flavor boost.
