Description
Quick and tasty Keto Nori-Wrapped Tuna Cakes recipe that is perfect for a low-carb diet.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a soy-free option)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 sheets of nori (seaweed)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, egg, almond flour, green onions, mayonnaise, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Lay a sheet of nori on a clean surface. Place one tuna patty in the center of the nori and fold the edges over to wrap it securely. Repeat with the remaining patties and nori sheets.
- Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the nori-wrapped tuna cakes to the skillet.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix in a teaspoon of sriracha or hot sauce into the tuna mixture before forming the patties.
- Serve with a side of avocado slices or a simple salad for a complete meal.
