Description

Keto Spiced Churros with Mexican Chocolate Sauce delightfully satisfy cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1/4 cup monk fruit sweetener (or your favorite keto sweetener)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (for frying)

For the Rich Chocolate Dip:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup monk fruit sweetener (or your favorite keto sweetener)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, coconut flour, monk fruit sweetener, baking powder, ground cinnamon, allspice, and sea salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, coconut milk, and almond extract until fully blended.
  3. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms. If the dough feels overly moist, allow it to rest for a few minutes to firm up.
  4. In a deep pan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe 4 to 6-inch lengths of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with kitchen scissors. Fry until they achieve a golden-brown color, approximately 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. To prepare the chocolate dip, melt the dark chocolate chips with heavy cream, monk fruit sweetener, almond extract, and ground cinnamon in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and warmed through.
  7. Serve the cinnamon twists warm, lightly sprinkled with additional monk fruit sweetener and cinnamon, accompanied by the rich chocolate dip for a delightful treat.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, fry the twists a minute longer.
  • For a hint of heat, consider adding a dash of chili powder to the chocolate dip.
