Description

A delicious and flavorful Keto Turkish Beef Kofta served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for a low-carb diet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce:
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into an elongated oval or sausage shape.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the kofta and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Alternatively, you can grill the kofta on a preheated grill for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. While the kofta cooks, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and dill or parsley in a small bowl. Stir until well combined.
  5. Serve the kofta hot with a generous drizzle of garlic yogurt sauce on top.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the kofta mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Serve the kofta with a side of cucumber salad or lettuce wraps for a refreshing crunch.
