Description

Delicious and savory Korean BBQ jackfruit sliders that are perfect for any gathering or meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans young green jackfruit in water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 8 slider buns
  • 1 cup coleslaw mix
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the jackfruit. Remove the seeds and trim the core pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Add the jackfruit to the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes, shredding the jackfruit with a fork as it cooks.
  5. Stir in BBQ sauce, soy sauce, gochujang, and rice vinegar. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, toast the slider buns.
  7. Assemble the sliders by placing the jackfruit mixture on the buns and topping with coleslaw and cilantro.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Make sure to use young green jackfruit, as ripe jackfruit will not have the right texture.
  • Adjust the amount of gochujang based on your spice preference.
