Ingredients

- 2 pounds beef short ribs
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, cut into chunks
- 1 cup water
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Soak the beef short ribs in cold water for 30 minutes to remove blood.
- In a large pot, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the soaked beef short ribs and bring back to a simmer. Cover and braise on low heat for about 2 hours.
- Add the onion and carrots, then cook for another 30-40 minutes, until the meat is tender.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the beef short ribs overnight.
- Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
