Description

Kibbeh Nayeh is a traditional Lebanese dish made with raw ground beef and bulgur, flavored with spices and served with olive oil and onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fine bulgur
  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Soak the bulgur in cold water for about 30 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the bulgur, ground beef, salt, black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, onion, and mint. Mix well until everything is thoroughly combined.
  3. Add olive oil and lemon juice to the mixture, then mix again until everything is well coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and shape it into a smooth, flat layer.
  5. Drizzle with additional olive oil and serve immediately with sliced onions and extra lemon on the side.

Notes

  • Ensure that the beef is very fresh, as this dish is served raw.
