- 1 small head of green cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash the cabbage thoroughly and slice it into thin strips.
- Chop the bacon into small pieces and mince the garlic.
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside, leaving the fat in the skillet.
- Add unsalted butter to the skillet and let it melt. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but still crunchy.
- Sprinkle onion powder, salt, and pepper over the cabbage. Add red pepper flakes if desired, and drizzle with apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine.
- Return the crispy bacon to the skillet and stir gently. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
