Low-Carb Cheese Taco Shells are a delicious and easy keto-friendly alternative to traditional taco shells, made primarily from cheese and perfect for filling with your favorite toppings.

- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon almond flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, almond flour, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Add the egg to the cheese mixture and stir until fully combined. The mixture should be sticky and hold together.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a circle about 4 inches in diameter. Repeat with the remaining mixture, leaving space between each scoop.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let the cheese rounds cool for a minute. While still warm, gently lift each round and drape it over a rolling pin or an upside-down bowl to form a taco shape. Allow them to cool completely in this shape to hold their form.
- Once cooled, fill the taco shells with your favorite keto-friendly fillings, such as seasoned ground beef, lettuce, avocado, and sour cream.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture.
