Description

A hearty dish combining meatballs with a creamy stroganoff sauce, perfect over noodles or rice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into small meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté mushrooms until soft.
  5. Add flour and stir to coat the mushrooms.
  6. Pour in beef broth, stirring to avoid lumps.
  7. Bring to a simmer, then add sour cream, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  8. Return meatballs to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve over noodles or rice.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
