- 12 large oysters, shucked
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced shallots
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shallots and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Stir in the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Place the shucked oysters on a baking sheet. Spoon the spinach mixture onto each oyster.
- Top each oyster with shredded Gruyere cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a variation, consider adding chopped bacon or pancetta to the topping mix.
- Ensure the oysters are fresh and properly cleaned before cooking.
