Description

A classic seafood dish featuring baked oysters topped with a rich mixture of butter, herbs, and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 large oysters, shucked
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shallots and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Stir in the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Place the shucked oysters on a baking sheet. Spoon the spinach mixture onto each oyster.
  5. Top each oyster with shredded Gruyere cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot.
