- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cans (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef and turkey over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add the bell peppers, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and beans if using.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
Notes
- This chili can be made in advance and tastes even better the next day.
- Serve with avocado or cilantro for added freshness.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
