- 2 cups shredded coconut
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites with salt until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the coconut mixture until just combined.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, place the mixture onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- If using, melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled macaroons.
Notes
- Let the macaroons cool completely before removing them from the baking sheet.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- These macaroons can also be dipped in chocolate for extra flavor!
