Description
A delicious and flavorful recipe for Smoked Paprika Keto Turnips cooked in duck fat, perfect for a low-carb meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium turnips, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tablespoons duck fat (or olive oil for a lighter option)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the turnip cubes, duck fat, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the turnips are evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned turnips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the turnips are tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the turnips during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
- Try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick, or substitute the smoked paprika with regular paprika for a milder taste.
