Description

A delicious and flavorful recipe for Smoked Paprika Keto Turnips cooked in duck fat, perfect for a low-carb meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium turnips, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons duck fat (or olive oil for a lighter option)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the turnip cubes, duck fat, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the turnips are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the seasoned turnips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the turnips are tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the turnips during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
  • Try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick, or substitute the smoked paprika with regular paprika for a milder taste.
