A delicious and spicy twist on a classic green bean dish, topped with crunchy almonds.

- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Drain the green beans and add them to the skillet. Toss to coat in the butter and spices.
- Add sliced almonds to the pan, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the almonds are toasted and the beans are heated through.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
- Can be made ahead of time and reheated.
