Description

Swedish Gravad Lax is a traditional Nordic dish made with salmon, sugar, and salt, typically served with a mustard sauce and crispbread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 kg fresh salmon fillet
  • 50 g coarse sea salt
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 bunch fresh dill

Instructions

  1. Mix the salt, sugar, and white pepper together in a bowl.
  2. Sprinkle half of the mixture in a dish large enough to fit the salmon.
  3. Place the salmon skin-side down on the spice mixture.
  4. Cover the salmon with the remaining mixture and the fresh dill.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 48 hours, turning the salmon every 12 hours.

  7. Slice thinly and serve with mustard sauce and crispbread.
