Description

An easy and delicious recipe for lemon bars with a buttery crust and tangy lemon filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the salt and flour, mixing until just combined.
  4. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon juice, and baking powder.
  7. Pour the lemon mixture over the baked crust.
  8. Bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar and slicing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the filling.
