Description

A delicious and savory crustless galette made with wild mushrooms and Gruyère cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups wild mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the chopped mushrooms and cook until soft.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Stir in the sautéed mixture and cheese, then add the flour until just combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and set in the middle.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Double the recipe for a larger gathering.
