Description
Zucchini Cheese Crisps are a crunchy and delicious snack made with grated zucchini and melty cheese, perfect for satisfying your cravings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup grated zucchini
- 1 cup hard but melty cheese (Gruyere, Cheddar, Parmesan, Swiss, or a mix)
Instructions
- Place a cheesecloth in a bowl and grate the zucchini into it. Press all the liquid out of the zucchini thoroughly. The drier the zucchini, the crispier your cheese crisps will be.
- Grate the cheese and mix it well with the drained zucchini.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form little mounds of about 1 tablespoon of the zucchini cheese mixture, leaving plenty of space between each mound to allow the cheese to spread.
- Place the baking sheet in the top third of the oven under the broiler on low, keeping a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- Once the edges turn brown, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Lift the crisps off the sheet by pulling up the parchment paper and place it on a cooling rack.
- Let the crisps cool for a couple of minutes, then remove them from the parchment paper and place them on a paper-towel-lined plate to absorb excess fat and become even crispier.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in spices such as garlic powder, onion powder, or Italian seasoning into the zucchini and cheese mixture.
- Experiment with different types of cheese to find your favorite combination, or use a blend of cheeses for a richer taste.
