Description

Zucchini Cheese Crisps are a crunchy and delicious snack made with grated zucchini and melty cheese, perfect for satisfying your cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup grated zucchini
  • 1 cup hard but melty cheese (Gruyere, Cheddar, Parmesan, Swiss, or a mix)

Instructions

  1. Place a cheesecloth in a bowl and grate the zucchini into it. Press all the liquid out of the zucchini thoroughly. The drier the zucchini, the crispier your cheese crisps will be.
  2. Grate the cheese and mix it well with the drained zucchini.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form little mounds of about 1 tablespoon of the zucchini cheese mixture, leaving plenty of space between each mound to allow the cheese to spread.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the top third of the oven under the broiler on low, keeping a close eye on them to prevent burning.
  5. Once the edges turn brown, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Lift the crisps off the sheet by pulling up the parchment paper and place it on a cooling rack.
  6. Let the crisps cool for a couple of minutes, then remove them from the parchment paper and place them on a paper-towel-lined plate to absorb excess fat and become even crispier.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in spices such as garlic powder, onion powder, or Italian seasoning into the zucchini and cheese mixture.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese to find your favorite combination, or use a blend of cheeses for a richer taste.
