Description

A delicious low-carb take on calzones that’s perfect for your keto diet.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave until melted and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, eggs, baking powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix until combined.
  4. Add the cheese mixture to the flour mixture and knead until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half and roll out each half into a circle.
  6. Place pepperoni and a spoonful of marinara sauce on one half of each circle.
  7. Fold the dough over to cover the filling and seal the edges.
  8. Place the calzones on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, replace pepperoni with vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
  • Calzones can be made ahead of time and frozen.
