Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.

Notes

  • For more smokiness, use chipotle peppers.
